Why Halloween is So Special in SD81!

Parents understand better than anyone that when they send their kids off to school every day, there is so much more going on than just academics. Parents care if their children are making friends, having good experiences, and feel good about where they are. I was so excited to be part of Halloween in our District today because I got to experience all of these things at each school today. I spent time with Lincoln students when they returned from their annual all-school trip to the movies. I had a great time at Kennedy and Washington, and am so pleased and proud of how much effort goes into making sure Halloween is so much fun for the students. They were laughing, smiling, and enjoying themselves during all of the festivities! Part of what makes Halloween so much fun for the kids in our District is that so many of us dress up and have fun with them! I’m happy to belong to a learning community where administrators, teachers, custodial staff, the district office, and parents dress up to be part of the experience with the children of SD81!
