Each day as Superintendent of Schools I can find someone or something that inspires me. Early this school year I spent many mornings at Kennedy School helping our kindergartners acclimate to their new academic life! They inspired me with their courage to face a new situation, because even though a few admitted they weren’t sure about staying the whole day, and really missed their moms, they came back to school every day to try it again!
Today I was inspired by the educators in our district. A group of teachers and the building principals came together to increase our knowledge on the NWEA MAP assessment tool that provides student achievement data that focuses on individual growth. We had the opportunity to work with a national presenter who developed and deepened our knowledge. We renewed our passion for teaching and leading, and are eager to share with you the dynamic tool that we are using to help your child grow and excel!
We have planned a special community forum for November 20th at 6:00 pm at Lincoln Middle School where we will share with you information about NWEA MAP. We are eager to engage you with all of the excitement we have about your child’s growth achievement in SD81!
