A Week Dedicated to Our School Administrators!

Today kicks off Principal Appreciation Week across the State of Illinois, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mrs. Kartsimas, Mrs. Maglione, Dr. Kopta, Ms. Stavrou, and Mr. Amsler for the hard work and commitment that they demonstrate every day for the children in their care. Each one of them began in this district as teachers.  They have seen a good number of their students grow to adulthood. They are leaders who have impacted many lives in the years they have served our schools.

I hope that you were able to see the video honoring this team at the September board meeting during the Example of Excellence. You can also view it in a post on my Superintendent’s blog. The video is filled with pictures of moments that define why these educators are so special and important to SD81. They are in classrooms, out on the playground, and supporting and caring for their students with a dedication that is found within those who aspire to bring out the best in every child. Please join me in honoring and thanking our amazing building administrators this week!
