The 4th Annual Project Heart Well 5K

The 4th Annual Project Heart Well was another great success! It was a cold, rainy fall day, but I love that it did not stop us from having a great time and creating special memories!
An event like this has so many moving parts and requires many helping hands. Mr. Narvaez, Mrs. Risolvo and the many School District 81 staff, parents and volunteers should be very proud of what they have accomplished. To bring the community together in order to raise money not only for SD81 schools, but for others who need our help is a remarkable feat!
Board of Education members Allison Downs and Tina Ewanio were happy to be a part of the day and support the SD81 Community Foundation in their outreach efforts. I was most impressed with the many students who came out to participate in the 5k. Is is always a pleasure to spend time with current and former students. A special thank you to Mayor Piltaver, two of our Village of Schiller Park trustees, Kitch Gorzynski and Moses Diaz as well as the Village of Schiller Park Fire Fighters! I am already looking forward to next year’s race. It is awesome to watch this great cause grow every year!
