Fifth grade students in Ms. Kren’s class at Washington School participated in a special project in honor of Women’s History Month. The assignment was to interview an older adult to get to know what her life was like at 10 or 11 years old. The students learned a great deal from the grandmothers, great aunts, neighbors, and family friends who they interviewed. This was a great opportunity to learn the differences in lifestyles, schooling, chores, and communication across the generations. The interviews and accompanying portraits are displayed outside of Ms. Kren’s classroom for everyone to read and enjoy.
