Since 1994, millions of dollars have been raised in pennies and other spare change by more than 10 million elementary and middle school students throughout the country. The funds collected benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Students in District 81 have collected more than their fair share of loose change to benefit this cause.
This year the eighth grade students from Lincoln Middle School raised the bar by setting a goal to raise to $1,000 for Pennies for Patients! Today they came one step closer to meeting their goal thanks to Mr. Amsler being a good sport. A water balloon sale took place during lunch periods on Friday, January 25th. Students and staff were able to purchase balloons for 25 cents/each to throw at Mr. Amsler. A great time was had by all, with the goal of raising money for the Pennies for Patients fundraiser.
I am proud of the students and employees of District 81 as we are always looking for ways to give back to various organizations to improve the lives of others. Have a wonderful weekend!
