District 81 Special Olympians demonstrate Strong Presence at North Central College!

District 81 had five student athletes participate in the Spring Track and Field Special Olympics event at North Central College on Sunday, April 29, 2012. The athletes did an outstanding job in both the tennis ball throw event and the 50 meter run. All five athletes earned medals for their performance. As a result of their stellar performance, two of our athletes qualified to attend the state competition this summer.

I attended this event with my family and I was incredibly proud and appreciative to see so many District 81 staff members come out early on a Sunday morning in support of our students. The commitment and dedication of the District 81 staff is an inspiration, and I am honored to be a member of our learning community.

My sincere appreciation goes out to our parents who made it possible for their children to compete in the games. It is a pleasure to collaborate with you in support of our students.
