The students and parents of District 81 celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Thursday, February 23rd. The event is always an exciting evening full of wonderful experiences for our children and their families. On behalf of the District 81 community, I extend sincere appreciation to the many community members who volunteered their time to read to our students, greet our families, and donate items to the raffle. We are fortunate to work in a community that understands collaboration among stakeholders improves the experiences of our children. As I walked around the event, I was proud to see both current and former School Board members, Village Trustees, several representatives from both the Schiller Park Police and Fire Departments and many teachers and staff from District 81 reading to our students. Ms. Michelle Morgan and Ms. Katrina Parkhill planned and led the organization of the event. I appreciate their dedication as well as that of the Kennedy School staff for creating an evening full of fun and new memories that the students will hold close to their hearts for many years to come.
