I had the wonderful opportunity to attend Washington School’s faculty meeting this morning. Principal Kopta and the School Leadership Team gave their colleagues a sneak peek of the professional development they will present at the No Child Left Behind Conference in Chicago next week. Ms. Kopta, Ms. Kren, Ms. Folan, Ms. Kash and Ms. Gadient represent District 81 very well, and their eagerness to share their expertise with other educators is admirable. They have already provided professional development at the national level when they presented at the NWEA Conference last summer. I am proud of their commitment and dedication. Their professionalism is a fine example of excellence in District 81.
The culture of Washington School is based on mutual respect and collaboration. The faculty and staff were proud of their colleagues, and the presenters were pleased to have suggestions on how to improve their presentation. District 81 has much to be proud of, and I am honored that a group of our very own professionals continue to share our story with other professionals from around the country.
