DARE Graduation
December 19, 2011
The fifth grade students in District 81 reached a very important milestone on December 15th when they graduated from DARE class. The DARE curriculum is led by Detective Russ Klug and co-taught with the 5th grade teachers from Washington School. The students are taught strategies that help them avoid bad influences and focus on their strengths and potential.
I am very proud of the fifth grade students. They have promised to make healthy choices for their mind and body and I am confident they will keep their word and continue to make good decisions for themselves and those around them.
I have known many of the DARE graduates since they were very young children, and it has been an absolute pleasure to watch them grow into responsible 5th grade students.
Congratulations to our 5th graders!!!
A special thank you to Detective Russ Klug for bringing DARE to Schiller Park District 81. Detective Klug has had a positive impact on the students of District 81 and I feel fortunate to have worked along side him to support children.
