A Tribute to Ed

The children at Washington School paid tribute to the life of Mr. Ed Fontana today in front of a beautiful Autumn Maple tree planted by Ed’s family in his memory. I was fortunate to attend this event, as it was clearly evident Ed deeply touched the lives of both staff and students. Ed worked diligently to support Washington programs in the best interest of children over the last several years. Various groups of students shared the impact Ed had on their lives. The children from the SLC and SLBC painted and placed rocks around the tree that was planted. On behalf of District 81, I extend my sincere appreciation to Ed’s family for including us in this powerful event. Ed will remain etched in our hearts forever.
