I am excited to officially welcome you to the 2011-2012 school year and I am thrilled to embark on my first year as Superintendent in District 81. I am proud to work in a community that truly puts the needs of children at the forefront of decision-making.

District 81 is welcoming back 1, 367 students this year! Several of our families attended the meet and greet on August 16, 2011. It was wonderful to see so many families participate in this important event as it ensures a smooth transition back to school for the students. Thank you for your participation and dedication to a successful partnership between home and school.

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit all three schools over the last several days and it has been an absolute pleasure to see the level of focus and enthusiasm in our buildings from both staff and students. I commend the staff for their commitment to ensuring a smooth start to the school year. The hard work and time they put into preparing our schools and classrooms is a true example of excellence and of their dedication to the success of our students.

District 81 celebrates substantial academic success and achievement. We will continue to work hard to maximize your student’s learning, growth, and success. We are fortunate to have a dedicated faculty and staff who set high standards for student achievement.  I will work to ensure the necessary resources are in place to continue the success of our students.
